1 dia passeando em São Paulo: Restaurante O Mundo de Betsy e Museu Lasar Segall

One day exploring São Paulo: Betsy's World Restaurant and Lasar Segall Museum

Posted by Raquel Pepineli on

The June Megers in Action was very chic! Our team was invited to visit the newly opened restaurant O Mundo de Betsy. To complete the day, the cultural outing was a visit to the Lasar Segall Museum. Shall we go into the details?

Visiting the restaurant O Mundo de Betsy

We were invited by Laura to have lunch at the restaurant. She explained that all the inspiration for the decor and menu came from the creation of the character Betsy, a modern young woman who loves to host friends at home for any meal.

With this in mind, the restaurant was decorated with spaces that resemble rooms in a house, such as a bedroom, bathroom, library, kitchen, and living room. The staff wear fun clothes, reminiscent of comfortable pajamas.

The menu concept is to serve everything from breakfast to happy hour drinks – many options were super tempting. On our visit, we chose pumpkin pastries with cilantro mayonnaise as an appetizer.

The main dishes were: milanesa, shrimp risotto, and salmon with risotto. We drank a few cocktails, and all had beautiful presentations, some were even a bit performative!

The desserts were well-served and delicious, we loved the visit :)

Free workshop at the Lasar Segall Museum

The Lasar Segall Museum is very close to our office, and we had wanted to go for a long time.
In addition to having exhibitions (both permanent and temporary), a cinema, and various courses, the space also offers free art workshops. We participated in a Woodcut workshop, which is a technique that uses wood to create stamps with the design.

The museum was founded by the artist's children and is located where Lasar Segall lived. Segall was born in 1889 in Russia and studied art in Berlin, Germany. In 1923, he immigrated to Brazil and joined the Brazilian Modernist Movement. He was a writer, painter, and sculptor and passed away in São Paulo in 1957. By then, he was already one of the great names in Brazilian modern art.
