Hi everyone, how are you?
It's been a long time since I last wrote on the blog, hasn't it? I ended up getting super involved with the production and launch of the second collection and didn't have much time to post updates.Speaking of it, I was looking at some photos yesterday and decided to share a bit of the behind-the-scenes of Meg & Meg here. I've always found it very cool to see how things were made in general: films, fashion shows, illustrations, etc. Now it's my turn to contribute a little to the world of ~making of~
Steps involved for a product to reach the store:
1. DEFINITIONS AND BUDGET
The very first step is to decide how much we will invest in the production of new products and which products we want to produce. With this in mind, we contact our suppliers for quotes and decisions on materials, color proofs, and deadlines.2. REFERENCES
Before starting the collection development, we always research and save references that inspire us. The curious thing is that they are not just images of stationery items, but a mix of cute things, different prints, objects, paintings, places. We save cool images on our Pinterest and build the style we want to give to the products.
Here's a reference that was on the list. Do you think the Things Notepad reminds you of this cute puppy? :)

3. SKETCHES
No idea just falls from the sky. You need to draw, redraw, and test. We make a series of sketches to visualize what are still just ideas, and after the scribbles seem to make sense, we move to digital. Here I put two photos: on the left, my notebook with scribbles of what would be the labels. On the right, I was testing the position and phrases of the Pens of the Week with adhesive labels.
4. OVERVIEW
After all the products take shape and begin to have their identity, I create an overview to see if they are harmonious with each other. In this process, we usually see that some things need to be adjusted so that it doesn't turn into a carnival of prints :P
End of March: products already decided, final design pending
5. DESIGN FINALIZATION
After several rounds of creation, each product is finalized and placed in the overview. At this stage, it is necessary to: finalize the files according to the supplier's specifications, conduct color tests, and make small adjustments before approving the production of all units.I even got emotional seeing these images again. One from the end of March, the other with the entire collection developed. Look at how much adaptation! It's really not a process that happens overnight, but it's very cool and rewarding to see the result. <3
End of April: products developed and sent for production
6. PHOTOS
With the products in production, it's time to plan the photos. Just like in the previous process, campaigns also have their inspirations. For this second collection, we wanted to showcase the products in a Happy Office :)
We could write a whole post just about the making-of of the photos, as it's a different process full of steps. But in summary, before the day, you need to: create a moodboard, choose the team, define the location, book a date, set up the scene, select clothes, do composition tests. On the day: assemble the looks, makeup, compose the scene, photos, photos, and more photos! Afterwards: select the photos, edit the images, and choose the main ones for the campaign.

7. WEBSITE
With the photos in hand, it's time to upload all the information to the website. We register the products, weight, specifications, descriptive text along with the beautiful photos that illustrate our creations.
After that, it's when you come to visit us and take these cuties home.
So, did you enjoy learning a little more about the creative process of Meg & Meg? I hope so!
Leave a comment here telling us what else you're curious about.
Kisses and see you in the next post!

Olá!! Ameiii demais conhecer um pouco mais dos bastidores! Posso tirar uma dúvida? Que programas usam para desenvolver as estampas digitalmente?
Sucesso sempre e muita fofura <3
Ver pronto é a melhor coisa do mundo. ♡
Beijão!
