Planejando seu dia

Planning your day

Posted by Jessica Blanco on

A few days ago I did a live on Instagram talking about how to organize your day using our Daily Planner. Since not everyone was able to watch, I decided to post the tips we gave there on the blog :)

Tips for planning your day

WHAT YOU GAIN BY PLANNING YOUR DAY

First, creating a to-do list for the day helps us understand where we will spend our hours. Have you ever had the feeling that the day flew by and you didn't do anything you really needed to do? Well, when we map out tasks at the beginning of the day and analyze what was actually done at the end of it, that feeling tends to decrease.
Having a plan gives us peace of mind to be able to execute one task at a time (and this is very important for being productive).
Additionally, listing tasks by time creates a small personal incentive, something like a "mini challenge." You will feel more motivated to complete your obligations if you set a deadline for each of them.

DEFINING THE DAY'S LIST

I always organize my to-do list as soon as the day starts (or the night before). For the plan to be efficient, I have some suggestions:
1. List everything that needs to happen during the day on paper and estimate the minutes for each task
2. Highlight the 3 most important ones in the Planner
3. Calculate how many tasks you will be able to absorb that day (considering your estimated duration for each one).
4. Try to put the most important ones first thing in the morning, so you're more likely to do what really matters :)
5. Write tasks in the Planner next to the time they should start

TIPS

- If a task will take more than an hour, use an arrow to indicate that the subsequent periods are already occupied! The photo below shows an example of this:

Daily plans

- Right after completing a task, mark it as done in your Planner. This will keep you motivated to finish the rest of the list!
- If your routine isn't very rigid, use a mechanical pencil. That way, if something changes during the day, you can adapt the list and continue to visualize the number of things you've resolved.
- Keep your notepad always by your side and write quick notes in the note space it has.
- Don't forget to highlight something good that happened in your day. There is always some special detail in the routine, and that makes life much happier and lighter :)
