Anyone who followed our latest release, the Timeless Stationery collection, saw that we introduced a notebook created in partnership with Brunna Mancuso, a Brazilian multi-artist. She creates pieces in ceramics, painting, tapestry, and even tattoos (if you have any of her work on your body, keep reading until the end of the post because we have something special!).
We interviewed the creator for you, who loved the notebook and wants to learn more about the artist. I'm sure you will also fall in love with Brunna's work :)
Interview with Brunna Mancuso
Meg Team: How did you start drawing? How old were you?
Brunna Mancuso:
I've always been a creative person! I liked watching kids' craft shows on TV since I was little, and right after high school, I started showing signs that I wanted to follow the path of design and illustration. I started working in the field early, and slowly developed my drawing skills over several years. I really started drawing around 20.

Meg Team: We see that you don't limit yourself to one technique and are always exploring new materials and formats for your creations: embroidery, ceramics, tattoos. Do you have a favorite format right now?
Brunna Mancuso:
I confess I'm in a phase of loving oil painting, which I discovered this year! This technique is incredible and has given me great results, which is taking my work in new directions I never imagined.

Meg Team: In the process of creating our notebook, we chose the A5 size so it would be less intimidating for those starting to venture into art. Any tips for beginners?
Brunna Mancuso:
I think the tip of a small notebook is great! Another one I really like to give my students is observational drawing for days when we are very stuck and don't know what to draw. Representing what's around us is wonderful because it's inherently full of meaning for us, and it's also great practice for drawing fundamentals like perspective, light and shadow, etc.
Meg Team: What or who inspires you currently?
Brunna Mancuso:
I went to the Van Gogh exhibition here in São Paulo yesterday, and it was magical. He's an artist who inspires me greatly! I'm also reading Matisse's biography, and it's very interesting to see the trajectory of great artists, how they also had to overcome a series of difficulties to become the names we know today.
Meg Team: Do you recommend any courses for those who want to learn how to paint with watercolor?
Brunna Mancuso:
I have an online course that I produced independently, and I'm very proud of it! It's very comprehensive for those who are starting to illustrate, like portraits, and don't just want to learn watercolor techniques, but also how to develop a style and identity in painting.
Meg Team: To conclude: we've known each other for many years, and it's incredible to finally launch a product with you! What motivated you to accept this partnership?
Brunna Mancuso:
Meg & Meg has always been a very strong reference for my entrepreneurial side! The way you run the business, creating identity among followers, the care with the products—it all inspires me a lot! It was an honor to receive the invitation, and I accepted with great joy!
